Unity Circle

One Community. Many Circles.

As we celebrate the official opening of McCabe House, Loreto Normanhurst’s new Boarding House, we mark more than a new building — we celebrate a living community built on welcome, generosity, and belonging.

The Unity Circle artwork at the entrance to McCabe House reflects this spirit. Each individual circle represents family, alumnae, groups and supporters. Together, these circles form one unified whole — a visible expression of a community gathered around every girl who calls this place home.

Unity Circle acknowledgements are now open and are aiming to be installed in time for the official opening on Wednesday 6 May.

Gifts connected to the Unity Circle support the Infinity Fund, strengthening Loreto Normanhurst’s long-term capacity to provide access, opportunity, and transformational education — especially through boarding and scholarships.

By participating, you add your circle to the whole — a lasting sign of your commitment to the School’s future and to the Mary Ward tradition of courage, justice, and community.

A Story of Connection and Legacy

Created by artist Jade Oakley, the Unity Circle is a living artwork honouring those who contribute to the Loreto Normanhurst story. Inspired by the unity of boarders and day students, its mosaic of brass discs forms a circle symbolising connection, diversity, and shared spirit.

Each disc carries a personalised message and is offered at four giving levels—Gold, Rose Gold, Silver, or Bronze—represented in ten shades of brass to reflect generosity across generations. As the discs sway in the breeze, their patina evolves, making each tribute beautifully unique.
